Possible bug - new drag and drop form editor is loading default fields on re-edit .

1. The old fields are getting deleted after re-edit.
2. The old fileds are also getting deleted once we toggle expert mode button.

Hi Krishna,

Thank you for the initials information, however i'm still not understanding clearly.

When you say "Old Fields" are these fields that were there on the form ? Then after you update the form the fields are deleted?

I know that when in drag and drop mode you can add the fields to the form. These fields should remain after you switch to expert mode but not the other way around.

Please clarify for me so that I can investigate and make a report on the issue.

Thanks,
Shane

Yes shane you have got it right.

When I edit any existing cred form my fields are deleted and some random default fields are added.
This happens each time edit is clicked or expert mode toggle button is clicked.
I have tried it on my 2 existing website.

This is scary. Please take it on priority and test it and resolve it.
I noticed one thing here. when I toggle to expert mode toolset shows this notification.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Toolset notification:
Changes that you make in the HTML editor will be lost if you switch back to the Visual editor.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now the problem here is this notification shows after making the changes and deleting the form filed. This alert should show before deleting the filed. There is no use seeing this alert after deleting the fields which has been added manually.

Hi Krishna,

I'm not able to replicate the issue on my end here.

Could you perhaps do a demonstation video so I know the exact steps.

Also when making edits in Expert mode then switching to Visual mode you should get the pop up to confirm that you want to switch. See Screenshot

Are you not getting this popup?

Please let me know.
Thanks,
Shane

Hello,

I have the same problem.

When i open an existing form to edit it my original form is replace by the default form which also shows up when you create a new form. When i switch to expert mode instead of my original form/html i see the new form converted to html.

How can i edit my existing forms with the new editor whitout losing the content of the existing form?

Hello,

I can not edit my existing forms either. Everything is unchanged in the frontend. If I save an existing form, then all my individual code is lost.
is there a way to edit the previous code in the new editor?

Thanks
Michael

Hi,

for me works the patch in known issues and solutions:
Custom HTML added in Forms versions previous to 2.3 is lost after updating to 2.3.4 directly
