Hi a while back I put in a feature request to be able to use views to display most popular (clicked on) posts. I think this request has been made quite a few times by others and seems pretty standard functionality. I was wondering if this was ever implemented?

The previous advice seems to be to use

- http://wordpress.org/plugins/simplicy-top-posts-most-viewed/screenshots/

I would prefer not to have to install additional plugins if possible, also these plugins have not been updated in several years

Thanks

Hi Stewart,

Thank you for contacting Toolset support. I checked in our internal system and found that development team turned down this feature request and said that it is out of our scope, mainly because we don’t do any tracking on how many times a post is shown or clicked. I understand that you want this to be part of Toolset but there is not much I can personally do for this.

Alternatively, you can create a Custom Field to track views and using some custom code make an incrementor function (counter) for this field to count when post is viewed / clicked.

You can contact Toolset recommended consultants to further discuss the custom approach. We have some recommended list of service providers here if you would like to take a look: https://toolset.com/consultant/

If you would still like me to re-forward this feature request for consideration, please let me know and I will do that but the chances are low to be a part of Toolset. Thank you
