Hi,
I just purchased the WP Types package, after a successful year and half with the free version.
I run WPML as i have content in 4 languages. My site's main language is Arabic, but my admin interface is Enlish. I don't need the backend to be arabic as it does not work well with most plugins..etc
When I installed the paid components of the plugin, most of the plugin menus and options changed to Arabic. so it ended up a mix Arabic and English.
I edited my user profile and found that the chosen language is still English and all other plugins, including WPML itself, have English backend interface.
how to stop the WP Types from displaying the backend content as mixed language and adjust it back to English?
thanks in Advance.
Hi, please go to Users > Your Profile > WPML Language Settings and ensure "Set admin language as editing language." is checked. Then check the back-end again and see if the admin language is set appropriately. If not, you will receive the best possible support for translation issues in the WPML support forums. The supporters there are trained to be able to provide the most effective assistance with translation issues.
Thanks a lot for such quick and accurate response.
much appreciated.
Hi,
On further inspection, the solution you provided does not work at all.
what it does is that it switches my admin area to Arabic language when I am in the "Arabic" language.
it made the problem worse.
If i unticked it back, I regain the English interface, but with Types showing a mix between Arabic and English.
what you are asking me now is to go to the WPML support. Well, this is not a WPML problem, it is isolated to Types.
In addition, you guys are the same company, and your plugins are incompatible?
can you please look deeper into this problem and advise a solution?
thanks.
I will gladly take a closer look. Please try these steps:
1. Go to the Posts > All Posts dashboard in wp-admin and use the top admin bar to select "English".
2. Go to Toolset > Content Templates to display the templates dashboard. Is the interface in Arabic, or English? It should be in English, since you set your admin context to English in the previous step.
In my local testing, this step set the interface to English. If I go back to Posts and set the context to Arabic, then the Content Templates dashboard reverts to Arabic. The WordPress Archives dashboard, however, does not behave the same way. It always respects the User Profile language setting. I'm not quite sure why these behave differently, so I will ask for some clarification. Please stand by and I will update you when I have some additional information.
Hi Christian,
Thanks for the elaboration.
Yes, when the admin Bar is English, the Toolset Types texts are in English.
However, when I change to Arabic, they change to Arabic despite I set the language in my profile to be always "English".
All other plugins respect this settings.
that's why I asked the question.
I am leaving it in you capable hands to check why is this happening in Types.
thanks
Hi, our 2nd tier support team had some difficulty reproducing this problem, and have reached out to the WPML 2nd tier support team for some additional assistance. Sorry for the delay here, but we hope to have some feedback for you shortly.
Hi, just checking in to let you know Toolset and WPML teams have discovered the source of the problem in the Views plugin, and we have escalated the issue to our developers for resolution. I'll keep you posted here as work progresses. Thanks for your patience!
Hi, I'm going through old tickets and I think this one can be closed. The interface bug must have been resolved by a recent update of WPML. Let me know if you are still able to replicate the problem, but I think this one is fixed.
