Hi, since June 2022 Toolset announced the decision to pause the development of new features, you asked your clients feedback about new improvements in May 2023, but you hadn't updated us with news about your plans.
I and, I'm sure, many other loyal clients are feeling like passengers on a ship where the captain does not give them any information about the route we are following.

For the last year I have tried to use Blocks, thinking that it would be the future and trusting in new developments, but little by little I am returning to Legacy View because Blocks, many times, does not work properly. It slows down the development, it has interface problems, it lacks options, sometimes View blocks stops working. Legacy View is much more reliable, but I'm also thinking that maybe I should look for alternatives to Toolset.
It's not only a problem of new features, I also don't know if you are still investing in marketing to sell Toolset or if you are abandoning the product.

I'm very happy to work with Toolset, it's my preferred development tool, but I cannot plan my future strategy if you don't plan yours.

thanks
Umberto

Hi Umberto

I appreciate it is frustrating, but there isn't much to report other than to affirm what has been said before.

I would point out that late last year we hired a new Toolset developer, we are not abandoning the product. But we are not engaged much in feature development, either. As we work through existing issues we may find ourselves in a position where we can work on new features, but I couldn't say what that timeframe might be.

For now we continue to work on new issues as they are reported while also working through an issue backlog, maintaining the product in good working order in the context of the moving target that WordPress and PHP updates implies.

The legacy editor is very stable and flexible, and if you are comfortable working with it then you can confidently continue to do so. The core block editor will continue to be the focus for a more enhanced UI, rather than bouncing around between support for different page builders, and we have outstanding challenges in that area such as support for FSE themes.
