Parametric search on archive pages with views-filter in widget area

This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.

Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients can post in it. Toolset support works 6 days per week, 19 hours per day.

Tell us what you are trying to do?
I want to be able to use a parametric search on archive pages where I place the views-filter in a widget area.

For "normal" views it is possible to display the filter and the filter results in different places on a page (or even different places in the site). With the following shortcodes.

[wpv-form-view name="name-of-the-view" target_id="self"]

and

[wpv-view name="name-of-the-view" view_display="layout"]

I have not seen a way to do the same thing for an archive view.

Would this be possible?

Sorry never mind. It was actually possible in the same way as for a normal view.
