[Resolved] Paginated lists cleaner URLs

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

The issue here is that user wanted a clean url on their AJAX Pagination. Instead they are getting wpv_aux_current_post_id=22356&wpv_view_count=22393-TCPID22356&wpv_paged=2

Solution:

Actually no it's not possible, however you can disable the url completely by using the AJAX pagination and then go to Toolset-> Settings -> Frontend Content and then disable the browser history management.

Hi,

I have a "view" and have paginated the list. However when I click to go to page 2 the URL is like this:

hidden link

Ideally would like it to be something like:
hidden link

Is there any way I can configure this?

Hi Matthew,

Thank you for contacting support forum.

Actually no it's not possible, however you can disable the url completely by using the AJAX pagination and then go to Toolset-> Settings -> Frontend Content and then disable the browser history management.

Please let me know if this helps.

Thanks,
Shane

Hmm OK if i did that though, that would mean the URL is the same for each page, then each page can't get indexed by Google.

Or is there a way to remove the pagination for Google so in theory google could still read all the content?

Hi Matthew,

So as suspected, this one isn't possible. However there is a feature request out for it but i'm not sure if our development team will be implementing it.

Thanks,
Shane

Ah okay that is a shame as its a fairly big issue. Can you please put my vote towards this getting sorted?

Are you aware of any work arounds to solve this? I know you mention disabling the query strings entirely but I can only see this being worse...
