Tell us what you are trying to do?
I have created a post type "vendors"
I have created custom fields group for 'vendors"
I have created post form "vendor listing edit screen" to edit existing "vendors"
I have created content template "Template for vendor edit form" containing the "vendor listing edit screen" form.
I have created a page "COMPLETE VENDOR LISTING"
I have inserted a view with "vendors" as the content selection
I have inserted a view loop to display each "vendor"
I have inserted various "vendor" fields to display the information
I have inserted a "Fields and Text" in order to link "Template for vendor edit form" or "vendor listing edit screen" form.
I click on "Add field or view"
There is no section called "Other Toolset Forms actions" from which I can choose "Edit post link".

Is there any documentation that you are following?
I am using "Front-end Forms for Editing Content in WordPress" as a guide.

Is there a similar example that we can see?
You see it on my site, but you actually have to log in, because there is simply no option for me to include the link.
Look at hidden link to see where I am trying to place the link.

What is the link to your site?

Hi Gary,

Thank you for getting in touch.

I did a quick check to see what is happening here for you, however i'm able to see the edit post link option. See Screenshot

Also thank you for the detailed steps that you've posted. I just found one issue and its with here.
I click on "Add field or view"

Instead of clicking on the Add field or View, you need to click on the Add Form button and it should bring up a popup window like what I have in my screenshot.

Please let me know if this helps.
Thanks,
Shane

Thank you. That worked. However, I was dismayed to find that even when I am not logged in as a user, I am able to edit all the entries, and submit them.

I figured out that I need to turn o access control. But, I still don't understand how a record can be updated when not logged in. I thought that wordpress automatically assigned less than subscriber status to those not logged in. Explain, please? LOL

I spoke too soon. Even after I logged back in as administrator, the EDIT link is gone.

Hi Gary,

Where are you editing the permissions?

Did you go to Toolset -> Access Control -> Toolset Forms and disable guest access to the edit form? From there you should be able to disable the access for any other user role that you don't want to have access to the edit form.

If this is what you did and it doesn't work, please provide me with admin access to take a deeper look for you.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Gary,

I'm not sure i'm understanding the issue because i've placed an edit link on the cards being displayed below.
hidden link

This link only appears when i'm logged in. Secondly if I go to the edit page as a guest user the form isn't being displayed.

Perhaps you were not inserting the link correctly.

Update: I saw where you used the Fields and Text block and i used the classic editor block. In the case of the classic editor block it works fine.

Thanks,
Shane

On Desktop: This is quite confusing to me. I am not logged in and still get the edit link. When I click on the edit link, I do not get the form to edit, but it takes me to the form page. That would be confusing to users. This is happening no matter what browser I use, and it still happens after clearing cache.

On iPhone it seems to be working just fine.

So, I am confused.

Hi Gary,

It would appear that something odd is up with the site.

Would it be possible to carry out some debugging on the site including disabling some of your plugins ? I want to ensure that this issue isn't being caused by another plugin.

Please let me know.
Thanks,
Shane

Of course you can. It won’t go live until I get some of this toolset stuff done.

Hi Gary,

I've escalated your ticket to our 2nd tier support team for further checks on this for me. The main issue here why the link is still showing up is that for some reason the previously logged in User ID is still registering on the site even though the user has been logged out.

This is in turn tricking Access into thinking the user is still logged in.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Gary,

I must apologize for the delay in response on this one.

Our 2nd tier team has done an extensive debug on the issue that you're having here and found that disabling the view's cache setting will resolve the issue. However in doing this it will cause your view to lose its current styling.

Doing a bit more debugging it was eventually discovered that the view had missing/corrupt data inside the database and there isn't much they can do about it.

Their recommendation here is to delete this view and recreate it and your issue should be resolved. Also please remember to disable the cache setting on the view and the permissions settings should work fine.

Thanks,
Shane

Sorry for the delay. I still haven’t had a chance to get back to the site. I’ll be trying your advice in the next day or two, so I’d like to keep the ticket open a while longer.

I have recreated the page new. A new view. The new page is at hidden link

I used the access tool to specify adminisrator only. STILL when not logged in I see the Edit link. It doesn't matter if I use BLOCK or CLASSIC. It doesn't matter that it is a new view. How can this possibly working for you and not me? I log out, I clear caches, I use different browsers, I use different machines.

Can we arrange a zoom call? or FreeConferenceCall? Or skype? Or Whatsapp? I would like to see what you are seeing and I would like you to see what I am seeing.

Ok. I stumbled upon some obscure permission issues on some of my roles. So, sorry. All is working now. It has been... I just didn't know it. Man, I wasted a lot of time on this. Apologies again.
