[Resolved] Order by field of parent post

I would like to order a view by a field contained in a parent. I have no trouble displaying the field, but am unable to order by it.

Dogs---Showings is One---Many
Trial Days---Showings is One---Many

One the post: Dog I am listing Showings (for that dog). I would like them to be ordered by a field from Trial Days (Trial Day Date). I am able to display each Showing's related Trial Day Date, but have been unable to order by that field.

I found this 'solution' that I think applies to my situation. It is mentioned here that this ability is planned and in development. Am I understanding that correctly? If so, is it still in development? Any update on when this feature might be available? Is there an easier way than the options listed yet? Or should I pursue those other options?

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

Well - It's not possible because the View can only be ordered by properties of the thing itself.

So, as Nigel pointed out with the ticket you shared that you have possible those three options which he mentioned:
