I am trying to import tables from my previous CMS. I prepared all necessary types. Then I bought WP Ultimate CSV Importer Custom Fields PRO version. Then I was reading it's manual and prepared CSVs of 2 tables in necessary format.
All fields importing correct. But relationships between 2 tables (Regions-o2m-Countries) doesn't recognizing at all. I'm uploading first child table, then parent. I use titles for relating, because my IDs system is different (in old CMS I have different tables for each of content types, so IDs can be same as what I see isn't works for WordPress).
Here is archive with types export file + 2 CVSes I'm importing, pls tell me what's wrong with them: hidden link. First need to import directory_countries.csv, then directory_regions.csv.
WP Ultimate CSV Importer plugin support told that Custom Fields PRO version doesn't support relationships. I bought extension to the full PRO version. But problems still persists.
Let me take a look. I'll need to set up a test site with relationships and some dummy data to import. (I have some other users asking similar questions, though not about the WP Ultimate CSV Importer plugin, and I will need to get set up with a copy of that to check it is working as expected.)
I can look at your CSV files, but I need to remind myself of what the general steps are with my own test, first.
You have been following the documented steps, yes?
Yes, I was reading both your and Ultimate Importer manuals and experimented with 2 CSV by very different way:
- different order of import
- updating of existing records during import
- tried to enter references by id manually
BTW you can experiment on your host with my data easily - I provided full toolset types export + my 2 CSVs with data.
I had a similar ticket where I was helping someone import related posts where they were not using the commercial plugins with Types relationship support, and I got it working without problems.
Then I tried to do more-or-less the same, but with the Ultimate CSV Importer Pro plugin.
It worked when I tried to import data in a one-to-many relationship.
It didn't work when I tried to import data in a many-to-many relationship.
That took me quite a long time to set up and I was quite thorough, I don't think I did anything wrong, but I need to get a colleague to try the same and see if they can get it to work. (This doesn't come up very often, it could be that it used to work and now does not, for some reason, but I need a second person in the team to confirm my findings.)
It's likely to be Monday before I get confirmation from someone else, I will let you know.
Hi, my problem was resolved - suppose it was related to the thing that limited version of plugin was activated before full version. I restored old version of db and it started to work.
