After updating Toolset Types to v3.2.5 the custom fields metaboxes aren’t visible anymore in the editor for all users except admins, when using Toolset Access 2.6.1. After deactivating Toolset Access all metaboxes are back again.
I use WordPress 5.0.3 with the classic editor.

Hello @Matthias, welcome to the Toolset support Forum!

So, if you just install a previous version of Toolset (without changing any setting), the fields are back again?

Could you please check if the same issue occurs on a clean install? I created a test website with a clean WordPress install. You can access it through this link:
hidden link - Through this link you will be automatically logged in.

Plese check if the same issue occurs on a clean install. After that, please send us clear steps on how to see/reproduce the issue.

All the best,
Diego

Hello Diego,

yes, if I switch back to Types 3.2.4, the fields are back for editor users. I checked this on a local site because I can't create any custom fields in your test install. The page is just blank: hidden link
I can also reproduce this error on my local site.

So we have two problems:
1. No custom fields metaboxes for non-admin users when using Types 3.2.5
2. No custom fields admin page when using Types 3.2.4

Best regards,
Matthias

Hi there, thanks for the feedback.

I enabled wp_debug on the test site and it display this error message:
"Fatal error: Class Types_Viewmodel_Field_Group_Factory contains 1 abstract method and must therefore be declared abstract or implement the remaining methods (Toolset_Field_Group_Factory::get_groups_for_element) in /var/www/public/hungry-octopus/wp-content/plugins/types/application/viewmodels/fields_group_factory.php on line 8"

I will check with my team if this is a know issue and will send you a feedback soon.

Kind regards,
Diego

Hello Matthias - This is Minesh here and I'll take care of this ticket and try to help you further. Hope this is OK.

Well - you should disable the classic editor plugin as its not required because when you Edit any post type from:
=> Toolset => Post Types => Edit your post type => You will be able to chose what kind of Editor you want to use under "Editor" option.

Regarding the custom field only displayed with the administrator role, this is known issue and already reported to our Devs. I will get in touch with you as soon as I know more.

Hello Minesh,

Types should also work properly with the Classic Editor plugin. I don't want to configure the editor on a per post type basis as I have a lot of post types on a lot of websites.

Best
Matthias

The "Classic Editor" plugin should work fine as I do not see any other user reported any issues but its not required if you dont want to add one more addon plugin for Editor as Types already offer you that and you can easily switch the settings.

If you do see any issues with "Classic Editor" plugin, please report back with a new ticket will all required issue information.

On a few sites I was able to update Types and Access. The problem is solved. But on many sites I'm not able to update the Types plugin because of a "not found" error. See the Screenshot: hidden link
But this seems to be another problem, maybe with your update servers?
