If the standard validate checkbox in a field is marked, the field shows up in every new / existing Form in the new Form Editor and can´t be removed - while locked.
As far as I understood, you've selected "Required" in the (Validation) option for a field in your Types field group.
Then you see the field in every form you try to create and you can't remove it.
I can say that this is expected because "Required" means that the field needs to have a value in order to create any post of the type to which you attached the post group.
Try to create a new post in the backend of the same post type. this field will prevent you to create the post if you didn't fill the field with a value.
Please elaborate more in case I didn't understand your question.
Sounds like You get me right - but this could not be. 🙂
Let´s say I have a text-field that need be filled out. So I check the validation box like this:
hidden link
Now I´m moving to any kind of form. I have 4 of them. Like this:
hidden link
Now this field is placed in every of this 4 forms as a field that can´t be removed from it:
hidden link
And now it´s everywhere. As far as I understood this - it´s just to say 'Hey - this field must be filled out!'. Not - this field is now placed everywhere in my forms. 😉
That indeed appears to be a usability issue, but it is not new, the behaviour was the same with the previous version of the forms builder, too (and I don't think we had any complaints about it).
What's different now is that before it was trivial to delete the field that was inserted. Now you only see the underlying markup (and so are able to delete the field) if you switch to "expert mode".
So that's what you should do for now. Meanwhile I will escalate this as a usability issue to see if the developers will consider changing it.
