[Resolved] New custom post create CRED post name and uncategorized

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

The problem here is that the user is getting a CRED auto Draft title when they create their posts on the frontend.

Solution:

This occurs because of the missing Post Title field. A post needs to be created with the post title hence our Form add the Auto Draft title when the post title field is missing.

To avoid this you will need to ensure that you haven't removed the post title field from your frontend Form.

When I create a new Toolset custom post, mostly with a Toolset custom form I get 3 problems:

1- the post name automatically created is for example CRED Auto Draft 9f1eaed15f6ea90d32cfc8e4c0eae1e1
2-the Post permalink created in the meantime is also CRED......
3-The post get classified in the wordpress category as Uncategorized but I created custom categories for this custom post (From which I selected some items from in the form).

I saw in a previous post that the CRED should change after a few hours but 24 hours later it's still the name of the post.

Where is the problem coming from in the configuration.

Thanks

Hiello,

Thank you for getting in touch.

I suspect the issue here is that your form is Missing the Post Title field. Whenever the form doesn't have a post title field then the post is created with the Cred Auto draft title.

This is common when user disable post title field in their custom post type settings. Similarly with the post link. The post links are generally created from the Post Titles hence the autodraft link as well

3-The post get classified in the wordpress category as Uncategorized but I created custom categories for this custom post (From which I selected some items from in the form).

Does the post still have the default wordpress category assigned to it? If so then you will get the uncategorized option checked by default.

Please let me know.
Thanks,
Shane
