[Resolved] Create sites in a multisite network with Toolset

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem: I would like to create sites in a multisite network using Toolset.

Solution: There are no built-in multisite generation tools in Toolset. A 3rd-party plugin would be required to create new subsites. Once those sites are established, you could use Toolset-based Themes to distribute the same theme, post types, post fields, and Toolset plugins to all sites in the network.

Good day, I don't any specific issue. Just an enquiry.

I need to know whether I can setup a site using Toolset (eg. hidden link) where schools could register and once completed the registration form they will have their own wordpress subwebsite (eg. hidden link)

So almost like a wordpress.com clone, but in this instance they will all use the same Site template, so will all look the same just content and details will differ.

I know there is a plugin (WP Ultimo) that allows one to do this, but was hoping I could try this is Toolset.

Hi, unfortunately there are no network/multi-site creation tools built into Toolset. I think a 3rd-party plugin would be required to generate subsites on a network, programmatically. With Toolset Forms, you could create a custom post type for "Schools" and publish a new School post for each School. However, that wouldn't create separate wp-admin areas (subsites in a network) for each School. It would still operate on one site.

Once you have that network setup, you could consider using Toolset-Based Themes to distribute the same theme, templates, post types, custom fields, taxonomies, etc...and even some starter content, bundled with Toolset plugins. We have more information about this available here: https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/how-to-build-toolset-based-themes/

If you'd like to see more network/multi-site tools built into Toolset in the future, I encourage you to submit your suggestions here: https://toolset.com/home/contact-us/suggest-a-new-feature-for-toolset/
