Hi there,

I've just realised one of my sites is using the old free version of Types - Version 2.3.5 - how do I migrate to the paid for version please?

Many thanks.

Hi Tracy,

Thank you for getting in touch.

The only thing that is required it to manually replace the 2.3.5 version with our latest version on our site.

Is this site making use of the toolset relationships? If so there is a migration tool in our Types 3.3.8 version that will allow you to migrate the old relationships to the new structure.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi there,
I don't think it is using relationships but how do I check if it is please?

If it isn't how can you elaborate on 'manually replace the 2.3.5 version with our latest version' so I'm sure to do the right thing?

Many thanks,
Tracy.

Hi Tracy,

What you need to do is download the latest version of the plugin from the link below.
https://toolset.com/account/downloads/

Then unzip and upload the folder to your website using ftp. The folder is wp-content/plugins, replacing the existing files.

Once you have done this you will go to Toolset->Relationships and if there are any relationships you can run the migration.

Please let me know if this is clear.

Thanks,
Shane

Many thanks - do I need to delete the existing plugin files or just copy over them?
Cheers.

Hi Tracy,

It would be best to delete the previous folder so the site doesn't crash when user's visit it during the update.

Delete the old folder and upload the new one.

Thanks,
Shane
