I am trying to: Allow people to search for results in their area.
Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link
I expected to see: Correct results for users based on where their selected maps distance center (the "Show results within xx of xx") part.
Instead, I got: Consistently inconsistent results.
A search for Saskatoon, SK returns correct results for whatever the distance field is. A search for Regina SK does not — it shows all results instead. The consistent part is that this happens every time. Saskatoon always returns correct results and Regina always does not.
Toronto, ON always shows correct results. Ottawa, ON never shows correct results. And it goes on with no rhyme or reason that I can surmise. Pick a Canadian city and it may show the correct results or it may not. Halifax, NS shows correct. Guelph, ON does not.
I should note that there are results to be shown in all of the search areas I've mentioned.
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this issue?
Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.
Can you please share admin access details and share few key words that I should use with distance search filter and tell me what is your expected result.
*** Please make a FULL BACKUP of your database and website.***
I would also eventually need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to your site. Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed.
I have set the next reply to private which means only you and I have access to it.
When I checked the Map API key you registered its shows me the following message at:
=> Toolset => Settings => Maps tab => Google Map API key => click on button "Check API"
REQUEST_DENIED - API keys with referer restrictions cannot be used with this API.
Can you please register the unrestricted google map API key.
Also, I click on the button "Check for missing cache entries" at section "Cached data" on the Maps tab and when I click on that It has added one missing entry.
I can see one result with the following URL:
=> hidden link
Do you expect more entries/posts to be displayed with the above url?
Thanks Minesh! The problem was that the API key had some restrictions on it that weren't allowed. As soon as the Check API button showed that the API was set up correctly, all of the map search functions were working fine.
