[Resolved] Map does not dipslay posts on secondary languages

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The user has a view that holds a map and display post markers. The view was not returning any results on the secondary language.

Solution:
It turns out to be an error in the user's translation workflow. The user was mixing manual translation and translation on the translation editor.

To fix the issue we had to remove the existing translations of the page and of the posts. Then we had to configure the location field to be copied instead of translated. Then translate the posts and the page using the translation editor.

Hey there,

I am having a few issues with Toolset on my website

1. There is a problem displaying map properly as you can see on the attached image "For development purposes only",
Also when I try to see the list of volunteers on different language than English it does not display anything (all the volunteers fields are already translated in other languages)

Please help

Thanks

Hello and thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

It took me some minutes before replying to the chat, but then you seemed disconnected, so I converted this chat to a regular forum ticket.
Regarding the first issue, I would say that there is a configuration issue in Google Maps settings that restricts your development server.

Regarding the second issue, I might need to take a closer look at the backend area of your site to check it further. Please let me know where the view is being used. Your next reply will be private to let you share credentials safely. ** Make a database backup before sharing credentials. **

Regarding the issue with the site key, I think that you don't need to create another key. You just need to check the configuration and see the restrictions that you have set regarding the domains or the IP addresses. I am not really sure. If you get stuck, you should contact Google support to help you with it.

Regarding the view issue on the secondary languages, everything seems ok for me. I'll need to take a copy of your website and check it locally. Would you be ok with me taking a copy of your website?

Hey, yes thats fine, copy the website

The first issue is solved now,

I have a question about if toolset and/or its component that can create a secured form like here hidden link but additionally there would be dropdown list to choose from, so messages would go to different email accounts,

Thanks

I spoke with the supporter from WPML and they said that the issue has to be on the Toolset side,

Do you think is it connected with the fact that the volunteers content template is not on the hidden link anymore, there is just a link (hidden link) on this page

Also I just noticed that the "Use my location" button does not work on:

hidden link

Cheers

We have discussed your last question during the chat earlier today, right! If you need further help, please open a new chat or ticket about it.

Regarding the Volunteers view on secondary languages, I believe there are two issues behind it. At least, I managed to display, on my local copy, one post in Russian, which was not ready for the page. Check this screenshot hidden link
- Translation mode: The first issue is the translation mode that you may have used for the page. I think that you have translated the pages manually instead of using the translation editor. Check this option to activate the translation editor for the page hidden link
- Custom address field translation: The field was configured to be translated, Check this screenshot hidden link I changed the setting to use "copy" instead of "translate". Then I translated the post to Russian and it was visible on the Russian translation.

Below what I suggest to do. Please try it with one language to verify if it works for you:
1. Search for the page translation on that language and remove it. Remove it completely from the Trash.
2. Open the original page in the editor, and activate the translation editor, then translate it to that language.
3. Open a Volunteer post in the original language. Change the setting for the custom field(you won't need to do it for all posts, as it is a global setting). Then save the post to force copying this custom field to the secondary languages.
4. Check then the translated page.
If that post appears, you can go to the list of posts and use the quick edit action to edit/save the posts. This will force the copying of that field to other languages.

If this works for that language, repeat steps 1 and 2 for the remaining languages.

I hope this helps. Let me know what you will get.

Hey there, thanks for reply

I have tried to do it the way you told me to, but it did not work. i have tried with Polish and Bulgarian translation

The Russian language which works ok, was the the first one after installing toolset, it was added a few days ago, and apparently works only on Russian version of the page

Thanks

#1922977

So, I removed the Polish translated page and removed it completely from the trash. Then I activated the Translation Editor and translated it again with the translation editor hidden link I only copied the page title.

Then the results have appeared on the translated page hidden link but only after filtering. I remember that we helped you hide the results until a filter is used, right!

I'll let you do the same to another language, or do the same for Polish to enter the appropriate page title for it.

It seems like the issue is solved now,

I asked a person from WPML team to have a look at it, but did not explain yet, what they have done to make it work, thanks anyway
