This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The "menu_order" sorting option in a View does not appear to be working as expected. I should be able to select which Menu to use for the sort order.
Solution: The "menu_order" referenced in the Order options is based on the order specified in the Post Attributes meta box. You can enable this meta box by going to Toolset > Post Types, then edit this post type. In the "Options" panel, you can toggle this metabox on or off.

I have lists of people associate with churches. The lists are displayed by using view shortcode for that relationship. It appears the lists are populating by the order in which staff were added to the list.
Is there a way to re-order this list at this point?
Hi, you can edit this View and modify the Ordering settings (see screenshot). If you are not able to see these settings, scroll to the top right corner of the View editor screen and click "Screen Options". You will be able to activate the panel here. You can then edit the Ordering options and choose another sort criteria to apply to this View.
I have setup a new menu for "people of the diocese". I have selected "menu order" in my view "people by church" nothing has changed with the ordering of my view. I thought there would be an additional selection to choose a menu? Please advise what else I need to do to make the view display people by menu order?

The menu_order option is based on the Order value you supply in the Post Attributes panel of the post editor screen (see attached). If you cannot see the Post Attributes panel when you edit your post, go to Toolset > Post Types and edit the relevant post type. In the "Options" panel, you can activate the Post Attributes meta box. Then it will appear in the post editor screen.
