I am trying to allow users to log in through using a login form I have made with Toolset shortcodes. The form appears at it should but when I have typed in the correct information it leads to a blank page with the text "blocked".
I"ve recently had another issue with Toolset which means I have just reinstalled WordPress, updated all the Toolset plugins, installed the twenty sixteen theme and deactivated all non-toolset plugins; the site is pretty much cleared out.
Could you have a look and see if you find any obvious mistakes?
The login page: hidden link
Username: Medlem or medlem@hotmail.com
Password: hidden link
I've could also give away login as an administrator if you want to have a look around in the admin?
Hi Andrea,
Thank you for contacting our support forum.
I tried to access the login form instead i'm presented with this page. Unfortunately i'm unable to understand what this message means.
Could you add the login form elsewhere so that I can test it out ?
Thanks,
Shane
Hi Shane,
Apologies, my mistake!
The page is an under maintainance page... it is a little field at the bottom of the page allowing you to insert a password to enter the site! This is andrea123 🙂
Kind regards,
Andrea
Hi Andrea,
This does not seem to be a page generated by any of our plugins, could you try disabling all the non-toolset plugins and try again ?
Thanks,
Shane
Hi Shane,
I've disabled all plugins except the one making the maintenance mode function (the issue is there also when I've previously disabled this temporarily).
The page is not made with a plugin, just a standard page made in the admin area and styled by the Twenty Seventeen theme. The page has one single login shortcode made with Toolset.
I've just made an identical page using the same procedure to make sure it's just a standard page with a single shortcode: hidden link
Kind Regards,
Andrea
Hi Andrea,
Does this happen with the default login page? As the only thing our toolset plugin does is to render that form on a different page.
Thanks,
Shane
Hi Shane,
No, the problem only occurs with the shortcode.
Kind Regards,
Andrea
Hi Andrea,
Could you provide a username and password where I can log into the site ?
The private fields will be enabled for your next response.
Thanks,
Shane
Hi Andrea,
I would love to get a duplicator package of this website so that I can test this issue locally.
Could you follow the instructions below and provide me with a duplicator package https://toolset.com/faq/provide-supporters-copy-site/
The private fields have been enabled.
Thanks,
Shane
Hi Andrea,
This is very strange as the form works perfectly fine on the duplicator package.
What I recommend trying is to place the form on another page and see if that helps. If that still doesnt work then could you try this plugin
https://wordpress.org/plugins/login-form/
It should allow you to place the login form on the frontend as well.
Thanks,
Shane
Hi - I just came across this thread as I was looking for a possible answer to the same problem which I encountered recently after the client contacted me to say that they were getting this problem.
In my case the login link was on a page containing a cred form which I had set up so that the client could edit their custom post type in a more user friendly manner and without going into the wordpress admin area. I had set them up with a custom access level which restricted their capabilities right down to just that custom post type.
I could not replicate the issue on the computer which I had been using to develop the website, but managed to see the issue when I used a different machine which had never been used to access the site.
When I logged into the site via the normal wordpress login route using the clients credentials, I was able to access the page without any problem. After logging out, I could log back in using the page containing the shortcode link.
Does this suggest come kind of cookie-based issue ?
