[Resolved] Link to edit post form problem

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
When trying to insert a link to a post edit form which is added to a content template container, the UI requires choosing/creating a Layout for the edit form and the content template cannot be selected.

Solution:
When Layouts is active the edit links expects to find the edit form in a Layout. In this case the client wasn't using Layouts for anything but had it activated, and so it could simply be de-activated.

I am trying to: Place an edit link to a CRED-form

Link to a page where the issue can be seen: None yet, I can't come that far.

I expected to see: The screen as mentioned in your post https://toolset.com/documentation/getting-started-with-toolset/publish-content-from-the-front-end/forms-for-editing/?utm_source=formsplugin&utm_campaign=forms&utm_medium=forms-gui&utm_term=forms-editing-doc.

I took al the steps of the above post but then the window where I can choose a content template is not showing. Instead I get this message: Create a new layout.... but I already made a content layout with the form shortcode in it.

Hope you can help with this.

Regards,
Petran

Hi there

If you have Layouts active, then you must place the edit forms inside a layout, not a content template, to be able to generate the links.

Decide whether you need Layouts or not. (I suspect not, because you appear to be using Divi, and so disabling Layouts is recommended.)
