[Resolved] Layouts and views are suddenly no longer displaying
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
The issue here is that the user's templates suddenly stops showing.
Solution:
In this user's case the issue was being caused by the NextGen plugin. This was introduced in version 3.9.0 of NextGen. If you have this plugin you can revert to a previous version or disable it.
Should this occur and you don't have NextGen installed I would recommend opening a ticket in our Support Forum.
This support ticket is created 4 years, 5 months ago. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.
This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.
Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients can post in it. Toolset support works 6 days per week, 19 hours per day.
Suddenly this morning all website pages using toolset layouts and views is no longer displaying information. I cannot figure out why this is. I need assistance. I have made no changes to the layouts or templates for a year or more. No idea what's happened. I even did a restore of the entire site and database from yesterday when we know it was last working, and it has not remedied the situation.
The most likely explanation for nothing appearing where expected when using templates made with Views or Layouts is that the theme uses a non-standard method of displaying the content. Switching theme could account for it. I guess a major update to a theme could result in changes to how it outputs content.
If you switch theme to twentytwentyone or another standard theme, does the content display?
Can you please include your debug info in your next reply: hidden link
I have discovered that one post type is displaying, but none of the other ones. This seems very strange to me. I've also tried doing a restoration of the site from last Friday and that did not resolve the issue either. It appears that there is something going on with the plugin that is causing this.
It would appear that we would need to have a further look at the website itself to determine what is happening here.
Would you mind providing me with admin access to the site so that I can have a look at the issue first hand? If needed I will need to have your consent to take a copy of the site for further testing.
Here is temporary admin access to the website. The link will expire after 1 week. hidden link. If needed the email for the admin user is noreply@toolset.com
The issue is being caused by the NextGen Gallery plugin.
What I would recommend that you do is to enable the wordpress debugging to see if there are any errors being thrown as well as to know what the error is.
To enable the wordpress debugging you can follow the instructions below.

If no errors are being generated on the site itself I would recommend getting in touch with your host for them to check the PHP logs to see if there is an error being thrown that is related to the NextGen Gallery plugin.
Finally once you are able to gather this information I would recommend contacting the NextGen gallery plugin support team for them to have a look at the site so that they can determine what is happening here.
Thanks for looking into this. I removed the offending plugin as we have a better solution for this and the site appears to be working well now. Thanks for your prompt attention.
