[Resolved] Layout same levels with Header and Footer

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The ability to use hierarchical Layouts no longer seems to be available.

Solution:
It is currently only available with strictly integrated themes. We are revising this and the next major update will make it possible with ordinary themes (affecting only the content area).

I created a layout and it became same level with header and footer layout. How can I make it under the Header and Footer? I can't find it in the settings.

Hi Randy

At some point in time (it's proving hard to pin down when), it became no longer possible to use parent-child Layouts with non-integrated themes (i.e. pretty much every normal theme).

If you have a parent Layout (which includes a child layout cell, that's what makes it a parent Layout), then create/edit a Layout that you want to assign to that parent, you would do so while editing the child Layout.

See the screenshot.

But, if your theme is not integrated you will find a message telling you that the theme needs to be integrated, and you can't set the parent.

You can set a global parent in the settings at Toolset > Settings > Layouts, but you can't individually assign parent Layouts.

We have a ticket to fix this and I'm escalating your thread and adding it to that ticket.

I'll discuss with the developers on Monday and see if there is a timescale for a likely resolution.
