[Resolved] How to remove sidebar and other content on custom posts with Avada

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
Client has created a template to display single custom posts on a site with Avada theme, and wants to use the Toolset theme options to disable some of the page content, e.g. the sidebar and the postmeta.

Solution:
It is currently not possible, the theme options for these are missing and this needs updating on our part.

At the moment the single custom posts will inherit the settings from single blog posts.

Hello guys,

I'm developing a website for a client where this site has some specific CPTs, and these CPTs must have pages with different default layouts.

Like this page:
hidden link

However, in Layout options, I have not found where to remove the sidebar from the site, neither the name of the post nor the bar at the bottom of the page with the date and the author.

The sidebar is essentially removed from the general options on the page.

Can you help me with this?

Thank you

in fact, I just realized that there are several options not working, or I configured it wrong.

for example, I tried to remove the sidebar through the options on the page and I saw that it is marked "none" and even though the bar is appearing.

if you need data to login just use the following data:

thank you

Hi, could you double-check those credentials for me? It looks like the password has a space in it, followed by the username again, is that correct? I tried several times but failed, and now the login form says my IP has been blocked. Please use the private reply fields here for security.

Okay thanks, I don't see any obvious configuration problems and I can't replicate this issue on my own local environment. So I think it would be best for me to create a clone of your site where I can monitor the code execution locally without affecting your live site. I can install the Duplicator plugin and begin those tests, if you approve.

you can use the plugin!

I'm waiting.

thank you

In Avada > Theme Options > Sidebars > Blog Posts, you have activated the global sidebar for blog posts. This option overrides any settings you choose in the post editor options. Please disable the Global Sidebar for Blog Posts to disable the sidebar in the post editor screen.

A bit more information about that global setting here:

Hello! These instructions only resolved the page options issue, it's something.

But now I left it as "global off" but still in Layouts options (hidden link) is not working.

As shown in the images above, there are no options to remove the name of the post and neither the bar at the bottom of the page (with the author's name and the date)

And the most important thing is the sidebar issue, you should have an option there to be able to select which bar is and even putting "theme options" nothing appears.

could put all the "page options" within Layouts options, so we can configure as many CPT as possible.

Or do you have any other options to help?

thank you

It sounds like you would like to request some improvements to the integration between Avada and Layouts. Nigel is our support liaison to the Layouts development team, so I have asked him to take a look at this ticket and examine your request. Please stand by and one of us will update you soon with additional information.

Hi Henrique

It seems that the Avada theme options for Layouts are missing individual settings for the sidebar, the page title, and the post meta box (each of the issues you identified). For single custom posts these are being inherited from your theme settings for blog posts, with no ability to override these specific options.

I am passing that feedback on to the developers so that they can be added in a future update (which requires the cooperation of the Avada team).

In the meantime I'm afraid the only option would be to use a child theme to duplicate the template for single blog posts and modify this for use with single custom posts to omit the content you want to exclude.

I knew this could happen 🙁

Well, anyway ... thank you very much for the help, really these things only time will help, with the maturing of the tool, I hope they will be solved soon.

From the most, excellent tool!

When is definitive update of the multiples relationship of posts? was not it at the end of last month?

Thank you

There should be an update of the betas within the next few days which will bring support for a beta version of CRED and some WPML support.

There is still some work to do (with Access and Layouts) that is underway before the full stable release, but it is our number one priority at the moment.
