This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
The issue here is that when the customer views his website built with Layouts on mobile devices, the website columns are not aligned correctly.
Solution:

I am trying to: Get the view right for certain page types on mobile using layout

Instead, I got: Text goes all the way to the right side of the viewport; text and image not left aligned
