I am trying to: get layout setup for EventManager & BuddyPress

I watched URL: YouTube video from Agnes and asked for a similiar one for this Layouts of 3rd Party plugins

Hi Agnes,
attached screenshoot regards the result I am getting after installing those and other 3rd party plugins. It looks for me I missed out settings to do ... but I am not sure.

Looking forward hearing from you.

Beatrice

Buddy Press cannot be customised with Layouts.

Events Manager presents as well some issues since they Hardcode certain Templates.
But in both cases, there are some possibilities to be used.

1. BuddyPress:
There is an obsolete and not anymore supported, but still present set of Cells related to BuddyPress, that you can activate yourself by editing the Code of Layouts.
The full explanation is here:
https://toolset.com/forums/topic/buddypress-pages-not-using-layouts/#post-360435

Note that there is no plan to develop or support this further.

2. Events Calendar has some issues:
https://toolset.com/forums/topic/making-layouts-work-with-the-events-calendar/#post-517294

They are being worked on and there are custom solutions (which we do not support but they are public)

https://toolset.com/forums/topic/making-layouts-work-with-the-events-calendar/page/2/#post-525891

This is what I can provide you from the technical point of view and from what we currently support.

If you wish to pass your issue to Agnes (I see you request some Videos?), I can do that, she will be back on Monday only though.
Can you link to the Blog Post or Video, where you communicated with Agnes about this?

Thanks a lot.

Hello Agnes,

it would be really wonderful getting help ... ideally with a video just to see how a professional like you is solving such challenge.

Firstly of course I do need a layout for 'Event Manager' - that free plugin at WordPress repository. Then one for the use of BuddyPress.

Looking forward hearing from you.

As I already informed you, this is not possible.

It's all elaborated here:
https://toolset.com/forums/topic/layout-for-event-manager-and-buddypress-third-party-plugins/#post-540781

You cannot create a Layout for BuddyPress things, but you can create a layout with BuddyPress things.

You can halfaway use Events Manager with Layouts, and also this is mostly due to the hardcoded Events Templates.

I do not think Agnes will have anything to show in a Video, but I asked her and she'll reply to you here ASAP.

Thank you for the patience.

Hello Beatrice,

this is Agnes. Thanks for creating that thread and the details. If Beda says that something is not possible or you might expect issues, it means that exactly what's we have. Beda is one of our best supporters and the most experienced ones.

I pinged me today to let me know about that ticket but I cannot be of any help I'm afraid.

Since many many customers are asking about using the two: Event Manager and Toolset we have an open ticket (in our internal system) to make that possible. But it will take time to implement it and the queue of new features is long.

I'm so sorry we didn't have good news for you Beatrice.

This ticket is now closed. If you're a Toolset client and need related help, please open a new support ticket.
