[Resolved] Latest post title showing in custom category view, when it shouldn’t

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem: I have a custom archive view that displays simply the featured thumbnail and post title with link. It works fine except that the title of the latest post is included above the view.

Solution: Disable any other plugins and switch to a default theme like Twenty Seventeen. If the problem is resolved, activate your theme and plugins one by one until the conflict is revealed.

I have a custom post type with custom categories.

I then have a custom archive view that displays simply the featured thumbnail and post title with link.

It works fine except that the title of the latest post is included above the view.

hidden link Shown in this link, the latest post is 'African Beauty' and it's title and post meta is showing at the very top of the page.

Are you able to advise me how I can remove this please?

Hi, please try the following troubleshooting steps first:
- Temporarily disable all plugins except Types and Views. If you need to activate a Maintenance Mode plugin while testing that's fine.
- Switch to the parent Genesis theme. Is the latest post information still showing above the archive? If not, please activate your child theme, then other plugins, one by one until the conflict is revealed.
- If the latest post information is still showing with the parent Genesis theme active, I'll need to make a clone of your site so I can run some additional tests locally. I'll install the Duplicator plugin to create that clone, if you approve.

Thank you! And I must apologise for not having tried that before. I found the culprit plugin, removed it and installed another one that does not conflict!

Thank you
