Hello Ned,

I hope you have been well and that your first year working on Toolset has been a productive one.

I’m reaching out because it has been quite a while since there were broader public updates, blog posts, or roadmap notes about the overall OntheGo Toolset package. From a user’s perspective, it feels a bit like standing in Costa Rica with a cafecito in hand, watching the sky, and saying, “The rain is surely coming... but when exactly?” 🙂

Toolset remains very important for long-term project planning, so an updated roadmap would be genuinely helpful. Even a high-level overview would already make a big difference.

Could you please share any current information on the following?

what is actively being worked on,
what improvements or releases are planned next,
what the general direction for Toolset looks like,
and, if possible, an approximate timeline.

Many of us still value Toolset greatly and would truly appreciate a little more visibility into what is ahead. It would help us plan with more confidence instead of guessing in the dark.

Thank you in advance for any update you can provide. I’d be very glad to hear from you soon.

Kind regards,
Beatris

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

First of all Thank you for using Toolset and having your concern showing your love towards Toolset.

#What we’re actively working on:

We’re currently finalizing the next Toolset release, which is coming soon - most likely before the end of the month. This is a significant update that includes long-awaited Full Site Editing (FSE) support, along with:
- a large set of performance improvements
- compatibility upgrades for modern WordPress environments
- various bug fixes
- updates to third-party libraries

#What’s planned next:
Looking just beyond this upcoming release, our next focus areas include:
- ensuring full compatibility with the latest WordPress changes, so Toolset continues to run reliably in modern setups
- further improvements to integrations like OpenStreetMap and Google Maps, including some new features
- continued work on better compatibility with third-party plugins

#General direction
Our overall direction remains focused on:
- keeping Toolset stable, fast, and compatible with the evolving WordPress ecosystem
- modernizing the product where needed (e.g., FSE support)
- incrementally improving existing features rather than introducing disruptive changes

#Timeline:
- Next release: expected before the end of the month:
- Following updates: ongoing improvements and compatibility work will continue in subsequent releases

We hear you on the need for clearer roadmap communication, and it’s something we’re actively discussing internally. Even sharing more high-level updates like this is a step we want to improve on.

If there are specific features you’d like us to prioritize, please let us know - we’ll do our best to take that into account.

Thanks again for your patience and continued trust in Toolset - it really means a lot to us!
