In the custom post type 'dates', I want to include the edit form present in the right sidebar within the post for the author role. As an admin, I have these elements in the post, but the authors do not.

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

As I understand - you want to grant Date post type access to the "Author" role. Is that correct, if yes:

Are you using Toolset access plugin? if no, Can you please install and activate the Toolset access plugin. You can download it from your account's download page: https://toolset.com/account/downloads/

Then, you should navigate to:
- Toolset => Access Control => Post Types tab
- Select your Dates post type and set it to "Managed by Access" and click on save button
- Grant appropriate capabilities to "Author" role and save the settings

Does that helps?
