When I activate the Views plugin everything on my front page disappears. I am using Avada as the theme. This happened about three years ago and I just turned off the page that we were using views on. But now the client would like to use it again.

That is really strange. Can you please make sure you are using latest Toolset plugins.
If you are already using latest Toolset plugins then I will have to dive-in to admin panel and check whats going wrong with your setup.

I would also eventually need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to your site. Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed.
I have set the next reply to private which means only you and I have access to it.
The issue was the home page is assigned with the content template "Template for pages".
I've edit your home page and from the "Content Template" metabox I've set the value to "None" as you can see with the following screenshot and saved the page: hidden link

Can you please try to make the same change with your live/production site and try to resolve your issue.
