I'm maintaining a client website & I've registered a new account for Toolset in their name, after having an existing account with the original website builder which lapsed. I was not shown a Register button, so have upgraded Tool Types plugin from V3.3.7 to V3.4.15 by uploading new zip file.
When I try to register the plugin in WPress, I'm taken to a window that says I'm using a plugin that's not paid for. Pressing 'Check my order status' for last 2 hours & account still seems to not sync, even though I've registered the new account & website URL in Account section of Toolset website. Is this a propagation issue, as I need to register the plugin?
Hello Mercedes,
I removed the site and tried to add: xxx but it won't allow this (see screenshot.)
So I've added the full https address this time instead of http. Now its: hidden link
So far the plugin has not changed...still not syncing with the Toolset account and telling me I've not paid for it. I will have to leave it overnight now and see if it updates.
Hello again Mercedes,
Yes you can remove the website URL from the support ticket.
SITE URL- CORRECT: I located the plugin's debug file & the site URL is correct, matching the Toolset account & the site URL listed in WordPress>Settings>General>Site Address.
INCORRECT SITE KEY & SUBSCRIPTION EXPIRY: The debug file shows a non-current Toolset Site Key, and the subscription period shows an expiry date that is an older subscription expiry, not matching the current subscription that was recently purchased. The subscription type says '5737' but I'm not sure what it should be.
INSTALLER LOG: I also found the Toolset Installer Log and it is has been fetching the account details, showing no error or mismatch, even though there are issues.
CANNOT UPDATE IN WP DASHBOARD: The plugin's registration details & site key need to be updated with the website but I 'm not given the option to update these in the WP dashboard. The plugin takes me around in circles and I cannot enter the new correct Site Key anywhere. Even clicking 'Register' doesn't give me the option, only to Check my Order Status which does nothing, or to Extend my subscription. The only thing I am to action is to Click 'Extend my subscription' which redirects me to the Toolset account login page to upgrade & buy another site subscription.
ATTEMPTS TO FIX: I've deleted the registered website & added it again (twice in last 24 hours) which generated a new Site key each time. Still nowhere on the WP dashboard to enter Site key though as nothing has changed there (see screenshots). I've cleared the WP website cache & my PC browser cache, logged out and then back in to all accounts & nothing has changed. The Installer Log, after clicking 'Check now' an hour ago & checking again just now is still not yet showing last subscription fetch. The debug file is still showing the incorrect details listed above.
Is this an issue for your Tech department? Can I upload the debug file content & more screenshots to you if you make the post private? I also found the Toolset Settings>Custom Code, so can probably figure out how to upload a code snippet if this would help fix the issue?
Mercedes asked me to look into this, and I see we've recently had similar reports with WPML (they use the same installer code) and our systems team is looking into the problem.
There's nothing to do right now, I'm escalating this thread to the same internal ticket and will keep you posted as soon as there are any developments.
As an aside, I see that the site is registered on our end, with the www prefix, and—checking—that is what your site uses, so no need to change that.
I updated the Site Key in wp-config.php file & it automatically updated the subscription expiry as well. The plugin is now correctly registered & is working fine. Thank you Nigel & Mercedes for helping to resolve this 🙂
