I have been notified that our host is disabling the XML-RPC feature in WordPress do to a possible security vulnerability which may allow bad actors to attempt to brute force credentials or allow the execution of malicious code on a site. They are suggesting the use of WordPress REST API only.

Before this change takes place I want to make sure it will not hurt our use of the WP-Toolset plugins as our site depends heavily on them.

Are any of the WP-Toolset plugins using XML-RPC?

Thanks,
Suzanne

Hi Suzanne,

Thank you for getting in touch.

I dont believe our plugins uses this because this is an API meant for use with Mobile apps and desktop apps meant to communicate with wordpress.

So if you disable XML-RPC then it should not affect our Toolset plugins.

Thanks,
Shane
