Tell us what you are trying to do?
I've created a Layout and am using tabs to display content. Looks good, except the tab links are ugly, for example: #link_ddl-tab_234_5d76fe546dc74 and they aren't permanent links. Is there a way for me to control what is used to link to the tabs? I'd like it to be a variation of the tab name.
Is there any documentation that you are following?
I don't see any recent documentation on this.
Is there a similar example that we can see? hidden link
I've noticed a similar situation with some page builders such as Avada which generate long unique IDs dynamically for the tabs, which doesn't help you, though.
I would ordinarily suggest making a request to offer a way to modify this, but Layouts is in maintenance mode and new features are not being added, as we work on the Blocks editor (see today's announcement), and so I don't think such a request would lead anywhere.
Thanks for checking. So, we really should not be using Layouts anymore, then? I just need to re-do this using WPBakery, which is my current page builder?
The tabs module in WP Bakery also adds long dynamic strings for the tab links, so that won't help.
There is no reason to discontinue using Layouts if you are happy with Layouts. Many clients like it and we will continue to maintain it, but we are not adding new features to it because our energies are going into the new Block editor, which in the longer term we think will replace the need for page builders.
