Is the description of a taxonomy searchable by engines? I'm asking to see if there is any value to writing descriptions for obvious name titles.
Is there any documentation that you are following? No

Is there a similar example that we can see? Screenshot

What is the link to your site? hidden link

Hello and thank you for contacting Toolset support.

I must confess, I am a little confused. Are you asking about the search capabilities in the WordPress backend, or about Search Engines, such as Google?

I assume you are asking about Search Engines because WordPress does not offer a search feature for taxonomy terms on the backend.

And, I'll reply, that it depends entirely on your setup(theme+plugins). Search engines look for special tags in the head of an HTML page, and also for the content on the body.

If you are using and SEP plugins such as Yoast, you can configure it to display the taxonomies descriptions in their archive pages. This part concerns the head part of an HTML page.

Regarding the body part, the theme may be displaying the taxonomy description in the archives pages. And You can also display it if you customize the archive pages using Toolset archive templates.

So, for SEO means, I think the descriptions are a good thing to have.
