[Resolved] Invalid site key for the current site.

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
Customer wasn't able to register the site.

There was a 403 forbidden error in the logs.

Solution:
I checked it and it looks like the site's IP was automatically blocked in our servers due to an old version of Toolset.

Our team removed the restrictions and I recommended the user to update his TS version before trying again.

When registering Toolset, always make sure to be running the latest version, if necessary, download it from the account page and install it manually.

I've tried to register toolset several times and I get the same message each time:

"Invalid site key for the current site.
Please note that the site key is case sensitive."

I've removed the site key several times, and that hasn't resolved the issue.

Any assistance you can provide would be great.

Hey there,

Thank you for contacting us.

There were instances in the past where this issue was resolved by recreating the license and registering Toolset again. Can you please follow these steps to try to fix the issue?

Please bear in mind that when registering a new key, you have to enter the site in the same format available in the DB, which in your case I found to be like this: hidden link

- Go to https://toolset.com/account/ and remove the key for your site
- Click on 'Add new site' and add your site again and save the new generated key(when adding it again, please make sure to add it exactly as it is registered within the site's DB, eg: with or without https, with or without WWW)
- Go to Plugins > Add New
- Click on "Commercial"
- Click on "Register Toolset" and try to register Toolset again with the new generated key

After registering it again, please check if the warning will go away.

Thank you, please let me know.

I tried this a few more times without success.

Also, not sure what you mean by Click on Commercial?

Hello there,

Thank you for sharing those details.

I made your reply private, if you need to send confidential information, you can let me know and I can mark your next reply as private.

Inside the Installer Support, do you see any errors other than the 'Forbidden subscription-fetching', for example, connection error, or block error?

Also, can you kindly go to https://toolset.com/account/sites/ click on show key and send me a screenshot so I can take a look at a few options.

I marked your next reply as private.

Thank you, please let us know.

Hello there,

Thank you for sharing those screenshots.

The 403 forbidden error is preventing your site from connecting to our servers and validating the license.

This is causing the issue you're experiencing.

It is possible that this is a block issue.

Can you please reach out to your host provider support or server administration and ask them if the outgoing traffic from your site to api.toolset.com(52.3.30.109) if perhaps being blocked and if it is possible to add it to the allow list?

Thank you, please let us know what they say and we'll reassess it.

I confirmed that Kinsta isn't showing the domain or IP being blocked. Could the licensing server be blocking Kinsta?

If I try to access that URL (hidden link) directly, I get this response:

a:1:{s:5:"error";s:49:"Unknown or Unsupported API Call: repository_error";}

Hello there,

Thank you for checking it with them.

I created a request with our Systems team to check if somehow your IP is being blocked and eventually add it to the allowlist.

I'll keep you posted.

Thank you for your help and patience while we investigate this.

Hello there,

Our team checked it and it looks like your site was blocked by an automatic algorithm due to the failed register attempts.

They also informed me that using outdated copy of Toolset sometimes cause this block to happen.

I checked it and it looks like you have an outdated plugin:

Toolset Types 3.4.18 - Last version 3.5.2

They removed this restriction and you should be able to register the Toolset plugin just fine now. Before registering again, please make sure to remove your outdated version and download a fresh copy from your account page: https://toolset.com/account/downloads/

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Please give it a try and let us know the results.
