I wanted to follow up on this old thread to explain the screenshot as currently Toolset does not follow the correct recommendations for canonical links in regards to paginated pages. Each paginated page should be a self referencing canonical, see: hidden link
"Don't use the first page of a paginated sequence as the canonical page. Instead, give each page in its own canonical URL."
Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.
Can you please share what exactly the issue here.
Can you please share problem URL and few screenshot and share what is current result and what is expected result with reference to what you shared:
"Don't use the first page of a paginated sequence as the canonical page. Instead, give each page in its own canonical URL."

I already did:
Toolset does not follow the correct recommendations for canonical links in regards to paginated pages. Each paginated page should be a self referencing canonical, see: hidden link
"Don't use the first page of a paginated sequence as the canonical page. Instead, give each page in its own canonical URL."
We raise your request to our internal ticket in front of our Devs but for now there is no fix offered.
The reason is, For example:
if you have a View with random sorting, your content changes on every page but also on every page load. Indexing your content for a given URL in that scenario should be a party.
In any case, this header tag is added by themes - or plugins, which might add or override the one provided by themes. It is not on us, the theme or plugin should decide, or produce options, about what to do on archives and on pages with query parameters.
The only legit comment here is about AJAX paginated Views. But that is not an automatic yes/no question, either. First, it is not entirely clear whether the Google crawler does follow AJAX-provided content, or whether it will consider it a different page if the canonical URL is changed dynamically. Second, Views has multiple purposes, including automatic pagination, including slides. It is totally legitimate that you do not want a second reference to the same page when only a single small slide has changed its visible page.
All in all, Considering that each theme and SEO plugin manages things differently, and they may include their own settings and whatnot, its not on us to offer a fix for this for now but we do have your ticket as reference with our internal system.
