I'm inquiring about this at the behest of my boss, so please forgive me if this is derivative, but he's wondering if there was a specific reason why Toolset is continuing to utilize the Google Maps Javascript API in favor of an alternative API such as Maps Embed.

Given that Google no longer supports a free tier for the Javascript API, we are concerned that many of our sites that were built supporting this API will have their maps shut down when we eventually exceed the $200 credit that was given to our transition accounts. I suppose we could transition to Azure, but we figure that would be a last ditch effort to avoiding accruing fees for API calls for the time being.
