[Closed] Images attached via custom field don't "un-attach" upon removal in post editor

I have a custom field group that uses the Toolset Images field.
I've configured it to allow multiple images to be uploaded to a post.
I use these images to create a carousel (pulls in "attached images") on the post.

The problem is, when I remove an image from the post editor, it still appears on the front-end. Apparently deleting the image doesn't un-attach it. Is there a way to fix that?

This seems to be more of a WordPress gallery issue than Toolset. To be able to delete the images from a WordPress gallery please follow the steps below:

If you did not use the WordPress native gallery feature please tell us which method you used.

Also, I'd appreciate it if you could replicate the issue on a clean installation of WordPress and Toolset here if it is not a WordPress related one:
