Tell us what you are trying to do?

I want to import data into custom fields. The plug-in that is recommended is outdated and not recommended for use by WordPress. https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/how-to-import-content-into-wordpress-using-csv/

Is there any documentation that you are following?

Is there a similar example that we can see?

This plug-in seems more robust and current.

What is the link to your site?

Any other resources you would recommend?

We don't have any updated importer recommendations to share with you at the moment. The document you've linked to still contains a lot of valid information, so I recommend reading it carefully even though the plugin mentioned is a bit outdated. Any plugin you choose to use as an importer will likely have its own set of rules and best practices, but the custom field data you end up storing in the database will still use the same formatting described in that article.
