Tell us what you are trying to do?
Test my site locally. Can I use it there or is this another 'site'? Can I just not get updates to the plugins?
Is there any documentation that you are following?
No
Is there a similar example that we can see?
No
What is the link to your site?
It's a local version of this site.

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

Yes - that's true. You can use plugins on your local site but you will not get automatic updates on it until you register the site URL even on your local platform.

Thanks Minesh.

I guess I can just take a newer snapshot of my live site with updated plugins and test that each time there are plugin updates.

Right now I need to cancel my subscription as apparently that is the only way I can reduce the number of sites for my subscription. I wish there was another way.

You can just unregister the site key from your account's page:

And generate new site key and register Toolset back when you want to register your site.
