[Resolved] I am trying to create a Relationship form from the WordPress backend.

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

I tried to create a Relationship Form from the WordPress backend, but it wouldn’t save; the form builder behaved oddly (expert mode toggle not working, CSS/JS sections not opening).

Solution:

The issue was caused by a conflict with the “WP All Import” plugin. After deactivating it (while keeping only Toolset plugins active and using a default theme), the Relationship Form could be created successfully.

This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.

Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients can post in it. Toolset support works 6 days per week, 19 hours per day.

Hi,

Welcome to Toolset support. Would you please follow the steps below?

- IMPORTANT STEP! Create a backup of your website. Or better approach will be to test this on a copy/staging version of the website to avoid any disruption of a live website.
- Switch to the default theme such as "TwentyTwenty" by going to "WordPress Dashboard > Appearance > themes".
- Go to "WordPress Dashboard > Plugins" and deactivate all plugins except:
. Toolset Types
. Toolset Blocks (Or Toolset Views, both are the same)
- Check if you can still recreate the issue.
- If not, re-activate your plugins one by one and check the issue each time to find out the plugin that causes the problem.

Thanks.

Hey,
thanks for your reply.
I tested your steps in my staging environment and none of it fixed the issue.
I can see a weird behaviour while using the form creator already:
- the switch back from expert mode isn't working
- one can't open the CSS or JS sections to edit it

The very same problem was posted by an user 2.5 years ago: https://toolset.com/forums/topic/errors-when-creating-a-relationship-form-specifically/

Thank you.

Hi,

Thank you for following the steps. The ticket you gave the link to was related to BeTheme, but you use Astra theme.

Would you please provide the login information to the staging version of the website so I can check without the fear of breaking a live website?

You can set the next reply as provide to provide the info.

Please also tell me where to check for the relationship form.

Thanks.

Hi Marian,

I went to the website, deactivated all plugins except the Toolset related ones, and changed the theme to 2021 which is a default WordPress theme.

Then I tried to create a relastionship form and it worked with no issues:

hidden link

You can not tets by enabling the plugins one by one to see which plugin was the culprit.

Thanks.

Hi Christopher,
you Sir are a legend! Thank you so much for your help. I deactivated most of my plugins and the theme but I haven't deactivated WP All Import - which seems to be the trouble maker indeed.
I tested it on staging, recreated on prod and et voilá - it works as expected.
Thank you so much for your support - my issue is resolved.

All the best,
Marian
