I have a taxonomy with lots of parents and child terms. I only want to allow the visitor to search by the parent terms. Is this possible?

Hi, there's nothing exactly like that built into a custom search View. You might be able to write some custom JavaScript code that manipulates the filter options, but that's something we don't offer customization for here in the forums. We do offer some front-end events that can help you trigger code with specific events for AJAX filters, and I'll be glad to give you that information if you're interested in writing your own custom JS code.

I have not found a solution, but will put this on hold for now.
