[Resolved] How to export types and views from sandbox site to dev site

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The issue here is that the user wanted to know how to export their Toolset components.

Solution:

For Types only you can go to Toolset -> Import/Export and export your custom post types and custom fields etc.

For views you will need to do this by using our Module Manager plugin from the link below.

https://toolset.com/account/downloads/#legacy-plugins

It should be noted that with the Module Manager you will only be able to export views that were created with the classic builder. This means views that were created by going to Toolset -> Views.

If this is not how your view was created then the entire site will need to be migrated to export your views built using Blocks.

In Drupal, we usually create new content types and Views on the developer's personal sandbox website. We then export the types and Views to a serialized file, and then import that into a copy of our website running on a development server, for testing by other people.

Is there any way to support that kind of working with Toolset?

Many thanks,
David

Hi David,

Thank you for getting in touch.

If you're referring to exporting structure of your Types as well as your Views and Content templates, then you can do this with our Toolset Module Manager plugin.

For Types only you can go to Toolset -> Import/Export and export your custom post types and custom fields etc.

For views you will need to do this by using our Module Manager plugin from the link below.

It should be noted that with the Module Manager you will only be able to export views that were created with the classic builder. This means views that were created by going to Toolset -> Views.

If this is not how your view was created then the entire site will need to be migrated to export your views built using Blocks.

Please let me know if this helps.
Thanks,
Shane
