How to create custom forms that make an API call to a different server on submit

This support ticket is created 3 years, 3 months ago. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.

This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.

Hi, I have a usecase where I want a custom form on my wordpress website which collects some data from the user. On filling the form and clicking on submit button, I want to make an API call to my CRM which is a different server running on ROR.
How can I achieve this customization using toolset ?

Is there any documentation that you are following?
I have refered custom code and creation of shortcodes documentation but did not find any documentation for my usecase.

Is there a similar example that we can see?
Not that I know of.

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

There is no such feature available - you can create post form to (create/edit existing) posts or you can create user forms to create new user or edit existing user profiles.

When user submit the form - do you want to create new post for any post type - if yes, then you can use Toolset form otherwise you will have to use custom form that will require custom code to call your API and that is beyond the scope of our support policy.
