I am trying to:

Create a website in fourteen languages. The website has about ten post types. I want to add editors who can only edit, delete or publish content in their own language.

I expected to see:

I used the Toolset plugin where I can create permission for languages. I hoped that I could easily say that a certain user, for example a German editor, can edit only German pages, German blogs, German events, German whitepapers etc. I hoped I could easily select this.

However, for every post type: German pages, German Blogs, German Events etc I have to select the german editor which means that only for the German role, I have to add ten WPML groups in the Access Control.

With fourteen languages this means 140 groups which makes setting it up time consuming and managing it error sensitive. Is there an easier way to achieve this?

Hi Geoffrey,

Thank you for contacting Toolset support. I can see the problem you are having here. Access & WPML only allows you to select 1 CPT at a time to setup permissions for each language, which is causing the issue and too much work to be done -- is it correct?

I have tried few things in this case but unfortunately there is no option to select multiple Post Types at once, to restrict with WPML languages. You can take a look at our docs:
- https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/setting-access-control/

- This related ticket might help you:

If you would like me to submit this as a feature request to our development team, please let me know and I will be happy to submit this to our team for further consideration. Thank you
