Tell us what you are trying to do?

Display an archive of custom posts, which are verses from the Bible.
I would like to add an entire book of the Bible as a post (like Genesis).
Then I would like to be able to have an archive of specific verses from that post.
Is there a way to wrap Bible verses in tags so that they can be queried to display as custom posts?

Is there any documentation that you are following?

No, couldn't find any.

Is there a similar example that we can see?

The functionality of the mobile Bible app from YouVersion.

What is the link to your site?

dorhaba.com

Hi Adam,

Thank you for getting in touch.

How you can approach this is to add each of the bible references as a custom field value. The Book would be 1 custom field, the Chapter would be another and the Verse would be another.

"Is there a way to wrap Bible verses in tags so that they can be queried to display as custom posts?"

Ideally each verse would be stored as its own individual post, this way you can add search filters to the archive that would allow the user to filter based on Book, Chapter and Verse.

"Then I would like to be able to have an archive of specific verses from that post."

Could you provide a little more details on this one for me so that I can get a clearer image.

Thanks,
Shane
