I have two custom post types: Sponsors and Programmes and a relationship between them called Sponsorships (many to many). However, I want each Sponsorship to also record Tier(s) which is a taxonomy. I don't see a way to add a taxonomy to a relationship. Am I going about this wrong or missing something?

Thanks.

Hi Steve,

Thank you for getting in touch.

Unfortunately Taxonomies are not allowed for this special-purpose post type.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Shane. That's a pity.

What should I do instead to structure the relationships and post types to make this work?

Hi Steve,

What you can do is to use a custom field instead.

This can work just as well as a taxonomy. You can add a custom field to your intermediary CPT.

Thanks,
Shane
