[Resolved] Horizontal search bar

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
How to display only view's search form on one page and search form and result on another page

Solution:
When you try to add your view to any page, it will give you option shown in following image:
=> https://d7j863fr5jhrr.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/choosing-a-different-page-to-display-the-results.jpg

You should select "only search box" option and then select the another page where you want to display the search result.

You can find proposed solution, in this case, with the following reply:

Hi,

I have a question regarding this site:

hidden link

On every custom post (for example: hidden link) I want to create a horizontal search bar with the same options as the vertical search you see in the home page, only horizontally.

The user should be able to make a new search and the results should appear where the content of the custom fields is (I mean the custom fields should disappear and instead a table with the loop results should appear).

Is that possible?

Do you have any documentation, example or video tutorial?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Daniel

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

Well - the best and fastest way to do this is you should create a another view with horizontal search bar with same filters and settings as per your old view display the search result on another page.

When you try to add your view to any page, it will give you option shown in following image:
=> hidden link

You should select "only search box" option and then select the another page where you want to display the search result.

Ok. I created a horizontal search.

The problem is, when I go to a single post page, you can see the search, the results and at the bottom the fields for the specific post. See screenshot attached.

This is what I'd like:

That when you go to a post like

hidden link

you see the search horizontal bar and immediately below the content template I created for the post type (and not the results).

When the user make a search, I want the search results to disappear and be replaced by the table with the results.

How can I achieve this?

Thanks!

The only possibility for that I already communicated you here:

Error in loop.png

OK.
So I created a horizontal search view and and on top of the template for the custom post type I inserted the search view (only the search form). See:

hidden link

Then i created another page with both the search form and the results, so that the search results appear on a new page. This page is "hidden link"

The problem is it creates a loop. See screenshot attached.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks!

Daniel
