[Resolved] Homepage builder content (Divi) is not showing when Toolset Views is activated

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

The problem here is that when the user activates our views plugin, their homepage content stops showing.

Solution:

In this users case they had created a content template for their homepage but didn't add any content to it.

Our content template will replace any pre-existing content created on a page that the template is assigned to.

For this user they had their page assigned to an empty template. Unassigning the page from this empty template resolved the issue

The homepage builder content is suddenly not showing up since yesterday: hidden link
This is how it should look: hidden link

When Toolset Views is deactivated the homepage loads again.

To the best of my knowledge no plugins were added or updated yesterday - I don't maintain this site but the owner assures me no major changes were made - other than styling changes. I updated all software this morning when troubleshooting the issue.

I've also tried switching off the builder on the homepage and that doesn't work either - the plain homepage text I added didn't display - just the page title as shown in the first screenshot above.

Can you see what could be causing this? Toolset views is currently deactivated so the homepage is showing but it is urgent as it is used for a lot of sections on this site.

Kind Regards,
Orla

Hi Orla,

Thank you for getting in touch.

I suspect that this is because the homepage might accidentally be assigned to an empty content template. You can check this by going to the page and edit it, then you can check the content template settings of the page.

I tried logging in to confirm this but the credentials don't seem to work.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Shane,

I have just tried those credentials directly from the email above and they are working. They are my personal login credentials but I tested them again anyway on a new browser.

There is no meta box for content templates on the homepage - it is not available under screen options either.

Kind Regards,
Orla

Hi Orla,

So i checked again and it seems that my ip might be blocked.See Screenshot

I'm not able to access the login page at all.

However could you send me a screenshot of the backend edit page for the homepage so that I can have a look ?

Thanks,
Shane

It could be that - I've whitelisted your IP - can you access it now?

Hi Orla,

Still getting the 403 error.

Can you send me a screenshot of the edit page for the homepage so we I can check to see if anything is amiss?

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Shane,

I've emailed their hosting company to see if the issue is their servers - it seems like it.

I attached a duplicator copy of the site with the initial support request if you cannot access the live site.

Attached is the full edit page with screen options enabled.

Kind Regards,
Orla

Hi Orla,

I checked the initial response for this ticket but couldn't find anything.

I've enabled the private fields so could you share the screenshot once more ?

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Orla,

It seems the page had a content template assigned to it. I managed to trash 2 content templates that had the name Page in it but weren't assigned to anything.

I did this and it started showing up fine.

Not sure why the content template option wasn't showing up on the Post but i suspect this is due to another plugin hiding it.

But the issue seems to be resolved now.
Thanks,
Shane
