[Resolved] Home Page View – Featured Product Display – Full width screen display

This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.

Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients can post in it. Toolset support works 6 days per week, 19 hours per day.

Hi Charles,

I'm happy to report that I was able to make the content area for the image full width.

All that was needed was to set the homepage container to be full width and the view container for that image section to be full width.

The homepage container was modified here.

Hi Shane,

Divi support has confirmed that there are hard coding that will make it difficult or impossible to create a full-screen-width and height using their Standard (Blue) Section and for some reason, the Fullwidth (Purple) Section which is designed for fullwidth display, shows a white screen over the background image.

Is there any way to get the background image in the second Fullwidth section to show?

Hi Charles,

Not sure what they mean by this but it is already full width.

The problem from what I could see was the main container here hidden link was not set to full width.

In my previous post I mentioned that I set it to full width and the image started showing full width. Your second section is also full width and i've added a background color using the divi module to illustrate this.

I appreciate your help. But I think I need to give up on this.

The screenshot is fullwidth but not full-screen top to bottom and according to Divi support, will never appear like the actual fullwidth module that displays here: hidden link

We can accept the white space at the bottom but the image has to appear at the top of the screen and with the current Standard module, Divi says that there is 4% of white padding that will show at the top.

Hi Charles,

They are correct. In trying to get this to work for you I wasn't able to have 100% success so it seems that this is an issue of basic incompatibility in this scenario because of how divi accepts its data.

This is completely understandable and a feature request for them is to allow for the background to be set by a shortcode for this module.

Sorry I wasn't able to get this 100% working for you.

Hi Shane,

Thank you for the great effort. I'm not happy with Divi over this but I obviously have to look in a different direction. This ticket is going to splinter in subject now and I will understand if you have to switch it to a new one.

There is still a problem with this. The client now insists on being able to add the top header image at will themselves. The problem with that is that currently, the client has to log into the Toolset view to change the image but there are three problems:

1. My clients do not have full admin privileges to their wp-admin, I provide them the user level of either Shop Manager or Editor.

2. If the client were able to access the View, it would be a confusing and problematic experience for them on the backend.

3. The Divi frontend Visual Builder does not work with Toolset Views.

I think a frontend form with Toolset might be the next logical direction to go but I have never created one. Do you think that could be a solution and if so can you direct me?
