I am following the tutorial on hiding the My Account page for visitors but it isn't working. I have selected pages to be managed by Access. I have created the post group and edited the read permissions for guests. And I've added the content template to show but it just shows the same My Account content. The only way I can make it work is by selecting the option to show the 404 page instead of a custom template. This works, but it's no good in this case since I want to show a login form that I have created in a Content Template.
Hello, I'll be glad to take a closer look. Can you provide the URL where you want to display a login form for Guests, and set up the Content Template so that the login form should be displayed to Guests instead of the 404 page? I'll check the page as a logged-out User and we can discuss next steps.
Hi Christian,
Sure, so this is the page here: hidden link
And I have attached a screenshot of my Post Group configuration in Access.
Many thanks,
Charlie
Thank you, I'm attaching a screenshot showing what I see at that URL. Can you share some screenshots of your Log in form Content Template in the wp-admin editor?
I received an email saying that you had replied but I can't see the message in the support ticket for some reason. Therefore, I can't see the attachment that you sent.
I've attached some screenshots of the login form content template anyway.
Note, I am not using the block editor version of Toolset, since I have built most of the site in PHP and prefer the flexibility of using the old version of Toolset and just inserting views.
Thanks,
Charlie
Okay thank you, I'm not able to reproduce this issue in my local environment after setting up a legacy template and applying the same post group settings you've mentioned here. There could be a conflict with another component of your site, or another issue I'm not aware of after the recent changes to Content Template priority and assignment. Can you try these troubleshooting steps next?
- Temporarily deactivate all plugins except Types, Views, and Access. If you want to activate a Maintenance Mode plugin during testing, that would be okay
- Temporarily activate a default theme like Twenty Twenty One
- Temporarily deactivate all custom code in Toolset > Settings > Custom code tab
- Test the My Account (Buyer) page again as a Guest
- If the problem is resolved, reactivate your custom code, plugins and theme one by one until the problem returns
- If the problem is not resolved, I may need to take a closer look
Please let me know the results of these tests and we can go from there.
