I have CPT A: Courses, and CPT B: Course Dates.

CPT A: Courses, has a taxonomy called "Course Categories" i.e. Recreational, Professional, Technical, etc.

I want to grab the Course Dates, but filter them by only showing Course Dates FROM Courses IN a specific taxonomy.

Currently, I have made a Taxonomy Archive page (Introduction) and have created a view that grabs each Course in the Taxonomy, and nested view that grabs the course dates for each course, but the issue is that I want All the course dates associated with the courses in that taxonomy to display so I can chronologically display them all together. Right now it shows COURSE 1 -> All the dates chronologically for THIS course, COURSE 2 -> All the dates for THIS Course.

I've been at this for hours. If I could do a zoom call with someone, that would be sweet.

Hi Sean,

Thank you for getting in touch.

Assuming that you're getting your posts to display in chronological order based on the sorting then your screenshot should be correct.

I'm making the assumption that you've sorted the Parent Taxonomy view by the taxonomy title but you're not displaying the actual title and the child view is sorted by the date field. In this case then it would display like this.

What happens is that your Parent view will list the taxonomy then list the posts in the order of the date field based on the parent taxonomy.

For e.g If Taxonomy A has a post with date field in November and Taxonomy B has a post in October then they would display like this.

- Taxonomy A
- - Post A November 1st
- - Post B November 2nd
- Taxonomy B
- - Post C October 1st
- - Post D October 2nd

As you can see it is following the correct ordering that is stated in both views.

However is it a case where your archive isn't following this principle and just displaying the posts randomly ?

Please let me know and would you mind allowing me to have admin access to the website so that I can have a more detailed look at this for you ?

Please where applicable please provide me with a link to an example page where I can see the issue.

I've enabled the private fields for your next response.

Thanks,
Shane
